Operations Manager – Waste Clearance & Reuse

A hands-on management role responsible for running the day-to-day operation of Waste For Space and supporting our reuse operation. This is not a desk-only management position.
What you’ll do
- Take responsibility for day-to-day Waste For Space operations
- Organise and allocate waste clearance jobs
- Manage the daily schedule and team
- Coordinate drivers and clearance operatives
- Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and professionally
- Manage the yard, vehicles, equipment and operational readiness
- Monitor upcoming bookings and workload
- Help deal with customer enquiries and operational issues
- Ensure waste is handled and disposed of correctly
- Identify reusable/resellable items and coordinate them with the reuse operation
- Support the office team when required
- Carry out site visits where required
- Drive company vehicles and attend waste clearance jobs when required
- Help with collections, loading and clearances when the operation requires it
- Solve day-to-day problems without requiring director involvement
- Report important issues and performance back to the directors
- Help improve systems, processes and efficiency as the business grows
Ideal candidate
- Strong organiser
- Reliable and proactive
- Comfortable managing people
- Comfortable working both in an office and hands-on
- Confident dealing with customers
- Able to make decisions and solve problems
- Physically capable of helping with clearance work when required
- Full UK driving licence strongly preferred
- Experience in waste, logistics, removals, property clearance, transport, construction or similar operations is beneficial
- Previous supervisory or management experience is beneficial
